“Who needs a GF when you have these teammates” – Man City stars tribute for Benjamin Mendy mirrors Gundogan gesture
Manchester City players took to the field on Saturday wearing special shirts in support of their injured teammate Benjamin Mendy.
The players donned the short for the warm-up ahead of their clash with Stoke City. Pep Guardiola’s side went onto Hammer the Potters by a 7-2 score line.

Mendy suffered a knee ligament injury last month and has undergone surgery. Guardiola stated that he has sympathy for the France international.
“Like what happened last year with Ilkay Gundogan, I feel really sad. For the way we want to play, he is a unique player,” Guardiola stated after the game.

City’s made a similar tribute to Gundogan last season when the midfield playmaker was sidelined with a knee injury.
