£20m Man City star makes another appearance as he establish himself in Guardiola’s squad
Manchester City beat Arsenal 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium in their Sunday Premier League clash.
The victory was City’s second against Arsenal in their last 11 games.
City boss Pep Guardiola started Ilkay Gundogan on the bench against Arseanl. The Germany international had started for the Citizens against Napoli on Wednesday.
The Spanish tactician has continued to ease the playmaker back into the squad following his long-term injury. Gundogan missed near to a year of football after suffering a knee injury last season.
Gundogan is to make back-to-back starts for City but is nearing full-fitness. He has also earned himself a recall to the Germany national team and could be in action when they take on England.
City signed Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund for £20 million back in 2016.
Following City’s win over Arsenal Gundogan urged his side to stay humble after the victory and that the win was just another step towards their goals.
