PSG pip Man City as best club in Europe, Man United fall down UEFA rankings while Besiktas keep place in top 10

Besiktas made history on Tuesday becoming the first Super Lig side to make it to the Champions League Last 16 as group leaders.

The Black Eagles held Porto to a 1-1 draw at the Vodafone park Stadium to secure first place in Group G.

The Istanbul giants giants took their points tally to 11 in the process.

The reigning Super Lig champions are one of seven sides that have yet to lose a game in the group stages – PSG, AS Roma, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester City, Besiktas and Tottenham.

UEFA released their latest rankings today and had PSG in first place for the 2017-18 season with 14.000 points with Manchester City in second and Tottenham in third.

City beat Feyenoord 1-0 at the Etihad on Tuesday while Spurs beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in Germany.

United meanwhile dropped into sixth place just one spot above Besiktas.

The Black Eagles are the only side other than City who have already guaranteed top spot in the group stages.

Besiktas became the first Turkish team to qualify for the Champions League Last 16 as group leaders – they managed to do so with a game to spare.

UEFA take the average of the last five seasons points tally to give an overall points tally.

The reigning Super Lig champions have moved into 28th place overall.
