Guardiola has decided to protect Fernandinho and Vincent Kompany ahead of the Manchester derby next week with both players one booking away from suspension.
David Silva has returned and will be named captain while Danilo makes only his fourth league start this season.
Midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has been relegated to the bench after getting his first Premier League start of the campaign against the Saints.

Gundogan has two assists in 15 appearances in all competitions this season.
City head into the clash on a 12 match win streak which has only been bettered by Chelsea (13 in 2016-17) and Arsenal (13 in 2001-02).
The Citizens are just two wins away from breaking the all time Premier League record.
