Arsenal £42m star would ‘favour’ move to Man United over Barcelona – contract talks with Gunners ongoing
Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has continually been linked with a move away from the north London-based club.
The 29-year-old has under six months left on his contract with the Gunners and could end up leaving Arsenal for free, five years after joining from Real Madrid for £42 million.
Both Manchester United and Barcelona have been linked with a move for the Germany international.
However according to the Daily Mail, Ozil would ‘favour’ reunion with Jose Mourinho at Man United over joining La Liga giants Barcelona.
Per the source, the 29-year-old still has a strong relationship with the Portuguese tactician. The pair won the La Liga title during their spell at Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are still keen to keep hold of Ozil and have tabled an improved offer for the midfield playmaker.
Ozil played the full 90 minutes during Arsenal’s 0-0 draw with London rivals West Ham United. The Gunners take on Newcastle United this weekend at the Emirates as they look to return to winning ways.
