Liverpool ‘wave white flag’ over star man joining Euro giants amid rumours of a five-year deal being struck

Liverpool have accepted they will lose Emre Can according to the latest reports from Italy.

The Corriere dello Sport claim that Liverpool have waved the white flag as far as the midfielder of Turkish origin is concerned.

Per the source, Juve’s masterplan involves Sami Khedira having the simple task of convincing Can – or Leon Goretzka – to join.

Corriere appear to believe Khedira will not have much trouble convincing Can into making the move.

Juventus have a pretty good track record when it comes to free transfers but we are not sure the Khedira plan will go as smoothly as reported unless he has Jedi like powers of persuasion.

The report does also claim that Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have also entered the race.

Can will leave on a free transfer this summer unless a new contract deal is agreed.

The 23-year-old has yet to rule out – or confirm – whether he plans to extend his contract and stay on Liverpool.

Reports on Italian television network Rai Sport meanwhile claim that Can has already reached an agreement with Juventus over a five year deal worth €5 million per-season.

Despite the latest reports head coach Jurgen Klopp has continued to give Can first-team opportunities.

Can has four goals and two assists in 21 appearances for the Premier League giants this season.
