‘Ozil has renewed’ – Arsenal fans convinced Mesut Ozil contract extension will be announced spark social media frenzy
Mesut Ozil scored the winning goal for Arsenal in the 1-0 victory over Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium on the weekend.
Ozil now has three goals and five assists in all competitions this season but it was not his goal that Gunners fans were busy debating on social media tonight.
Arsenal fans are convinced the playmaker of Turkish origin has signed a contract extension and that it will be officially announced imminently.
Ozil will leave the North London club as a free transfer at the end of the season unless a new contract deal is signed.
Arsenal could be responsible for fans believing Ozil has signed a new deal.
The Gunners posted a collection of his greatest goals for the club starting off the thread by tweeting, “It’s a wet afternoon in north London, so let us brighten up your Sunday,” they followed it up with six memorable strikes from the 2014 World Cup winner.
Arsenal could well be guilty of getting their fans hopes up!
