England midfielder Jack Wilshere expects new deal at Arsenal but is running out of time.

Wilshere made just his second Premier League start of the season against Newcastle United last weekend.

The 25-year-old has struggled for playing time and was expected to leave the North London club.

Wilshere’s current deal expires at the end of the season. Unless he reached an agreement over an extension he will be leaving as a free agent.

“I definitely want to be here. I want to help Arsenal get to where they should be,” Wilshere, who made his Gunners debut in 2008, told Sky Sports.

“We just have to sort things out and I’m sure that will happen in the next couple of weeks and it will be sorted.”

Wilshere is chasing a recall to the England team for the 2018 World Cup but has struggled for playing time in the league.

“I think I’ve proved to myself that I can play in the Premier League and I trust my body again and that I can affect games. I can have a positive effect on this team and then maybe we’ll see if the England manager picks me,” he said.

The last time Wilshere played for England was at Euro 2016 in the Last 16 defeat to Iceland.

England manager Gareth Southgate has insisted the 25-year-old cannot be included if he is not playing regularly for Arsenal.

Wilshere has no shortage of interest from abroad.

Fenerbahce will launch a move for Wilshere in January according to the Sabah.

Per the source, the Yellow Canaries have made Wilshere a transfer priority.

Wilshere would end up joining his former Arsenal academy teammate Oguzhan Ozyakup in the Super Lig if he were to make the move.

Ozyakup and Wilshere were part of the Arsenal youth side that won the 2008 Youth FA Cup.

The Turkish international has gone onto win back to back league titles and was part of the Besiktas side that reached the Champions League Last 16 against Bayern Munich this campaign.
