Arsenal Reveal Why Star Playmaker Has Been Dropped Against West Brom

Arsene Wenger takes charge of his 811th game for Arsenal heading into the West Brom clash.

Wenger will set a new Premier League record of managing 811 Premier League game in the process.

The Arsenal boss equalled former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s record of managing 810 League games in the 3-2 win against Crystal Palace last Thursday.

There was one notable absentee from the match day line-up heading into the clash.

Mesut Ozil was left out of the squad which sparked fears that he could be gearing up for a January exit.

Ozil has under 12 months remaining on his contract and will be a free agent at the end of the season unless he strikes a new deal.

The North London outfit revealed that a knee injury was the actual reason Ozil missed the game on the official club website.

Arsenal wrote the following statement: “Injury news: Mesut Ozil misses today’s game due to a knee injury.”

The 29-year-old is out but Granit Xhaka passed a late fitness test to match the match day squad.
