Leicester City Prepared To Offload £25m Striker, Besiktas Enter Talks

Besiktas received a boost in their pursuit of Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho according to the latest reports from England.

The Sun claim that the Foxes are prepared to let the Nigeria international leave even if it means making a loss on the £25million

Per the source, Leicester are beginning to accept they make a mistake signing the striker from Manchester City over the summer.

The 21-year-old has made just two Premier League starts this term scoring just a single goal.

The Sun quoted a ‘well-placed source’ as saying: “The problem is Kelechi is earning around £115,000-a-week on a five-year deal and no club will currently want to take him on those wages.

“So Leicester might have to let him go for a lot cheaper than they paid for him if they decide to sell now.”

Iheanacho is currently behind Jamie Vardy, Shinki Okazaki and Islam Slimani in the pecking order.

A source close to Besiktas revealed to Turkish-Football that Iheanacho is on the shortlist and that initial talks were held with his representatives last week in England.

The Black Eagles are keen on a loan move until the end of the season with a buyout option.
