‘He is very much in the mould of Harry Kane’ – Ex Everton Star Reacts To Cenk Tosun Transfer
Everton striker Cenk Tosun scored a goal every 112.5 minutes in the Champions League this season, converting four times for the Black Eagles.
The 26-year-old has a great conversion record, scoring 55 percent of goals from clear opportunities – 46.67 percent in the league according to the official Everton website.
The Turkey international actually has a better record than Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero – (45.45%) – Alexis Sanchez (44.44%), Alvaro Morata (39.13%).
The prolific forward has scored with his left and right feet as well as his head and is registering three attempts at goal per-games.
Only Tottenham striker Harry Kane boasts a higher ratio of strikes at goal this term and that is who former Everton defender Don Hutchinson feels Tosun shares similarities with.

“He is very much in the mould of Harry Kane – he is excellent with his head and a very good finisher on his left and right side,” said Hutchison told evertonfc.com.
“I am really glad Everton beat off stiff competition for his signature and I have absolutely no doubt he will be a success – and that the Everton fans will absolutely love him.”
Hutchinson also recalled Tosun’s performance against Monaco which showcased his ability to provide as well as score.
Tosun was likened to Paul Gasgoine for setting up Anderson Talisca in the 1-1 draw against Monaco.
Besiktas became the first Turkish side to book a place in the Champions League last 16 as group leaders, Tosun was directly involved in six of the Black Eagles 11 goals.
“I have seen an enormous amount of Cenk in the past 18 months – both in the Champions League and Turkish League,” Hutchison.
“I saw him have a great game against Porto in the Champions League [when Tosun set up Anderson Talisca to score Besiktas’ goal in the 1-1 draw which put the Turks into the last-16].
“Some of the pieces of skill he produced on that night were magical – he reminded me of Gazza tying Colin Hendry in knots for England against Scotland at Euro ’96.
“I have been hugely impressed by him and recommended him to a number of scouts and managers.”
