Arsenal & Everton set to miss out on Barcelona star midfielder – close to agreeing terms with Turkish club
Barcelona star midfielder Arda Turan is expected to leave the La Liga giants in the near future.
The Turkey international has been deemed as surplus to requirements by Barca boss Ernesto Valverdi.
Turan is yet to play a single minute of La Liga football for Barcelona this season. The 30-year-old has been linked with moves to Arsenal and Everton in recent weeks.
However, it appears Turkish minnows Istanbul Basaksehir are now in pole position to land the star midfielder.
The Super Lig club confirmed to Turkish-Football.com that negotiations with Turan and his agent Ahmet Bulut have begun.
Meanwhile, Basaksehir boss Abdullah Avci told reporters that there is plenty of work to be done in order to complete the transfer.
“The process is continuing,” Avci told reporters.
“I don’t think there is any problem with him but this part of the talks with Barcelona is not easy.
“The situation will be made clear on Thursday or Friday.”
Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut went a step forward when he told SporX that his client was closing on a move to Basaksehir.
“Arda has reached an agreement with Basaksehir and he doesn’t want to listen to any other offers,” Ahmet Bulut told Sporx.
“He wants to go back to Istanbul.”
