Liverpool Receive Boost For Plan To Replace Coutinho With Brazilian Star Who Has 4 Champions League Goals This Season

Liverpool plan to replace Philippe Coutinho with Besiktas attacking midfielder Anderson Talisca according to the Milliyet newspaper.

Per the source, the Reds have rekindled interest in the Brazilian attacking midfielder who is being tipped among the favorites to replace Coutinho.

Liverpool sold Coutinho to Barcelona for £142 million giving them plenty to reinvest in strengthening the squad.

The Reds suffered a blow in their pursuit of Talisca after reports emerged that he extended his Benfica contract to 2021.

The 23-year-old is currently into his second season on loan at Besiktas but has just over one-season remaining on his current deal.

Interested clubs would be able to force Benfica’s hand over the summer if Talisca refuses to extend his contract with the Portuguese club.

Fanatik claimed that reports of a new contract deal are actually false.

Talisca’s rection on Instagram was also interpreted as a denial. The message read along the lines: ‘A world polluted by lies’.

Talisca has been on the Reds shortlist for years and that club scouts have been impressed with his form this season especially in Europe.

The attacking midfielder was closely linked with Liverpool as well as a £20 million move to Wolves prior to joining Besiktas in 2016 according to the Sun.

Besiktas also want Talisca on a permanent deal and feel €10 million should be enough to sign him over the summer.

The 1.91m tall midfielder was level with Cenk Tosun in the Champions League scoring charts for Besiktas.

The Black Eagles became the first Turkish side to book a place in the Last 16 as group leaders.
