Man United Face Competition For Mexico International After Besiktas Delegation Arrives In London For Talks

Manchester United face competition for West Ham forward Javier Hernandez from Besiktas.

The Red Devils made a preliminary inquiry for the Mexico international according to the Telegraph.

Per the source, United are keen on strengthening their options up front and have their eye on Hernandez, Jamie Vardy and Alexis Sanchez.

A source close to Besiktas meanwhile has revealed to Turkish-Football that the club have sent a delegation of club officials to London.

The Black Eagles are set to hold several round of talks with the representatives of players on their shortlist, including Hernandez.

The reigning Super Lig champions want to replace Cenk Tosun who joined Everton last Friday.

Besiktas are able to offer lucrative terms for a first-team role in a side that will play Champions League football and be involved in a title race.

The Eagles have struggled to open up sides who park the bus in the league this season and feel a player like Hernandez could prove invaluable considering the level of service and number of chances he would get.

Mourinho pretty much summed up what the club think of Hernandez when in 2017 he said: “I give you a simple example. In the way we play at Old Trafford, in the way we dominate opponents in the way we play in their box, I think Chicharito would have 20 goals easy.

“Even coming from the bench for the last 10 or 20 minutes, he will have 20 goals.”

“He is a guy that naturally the ball comes, rebound here, rebounds there, boom – goal. “The goalkeeper saves, he goes there, tap in – goal. The cross is coming, he anticipates the first post header – goal.”

Hernandez, unwanted at West Ham by new manager David Moyes, will not take much convincing to escape his current situation.

The 29-year-old also fell out of favor with Moyes when he took charge of United in the 2013-14 season.

The Hammers are prepared to listen to offers for the striker.
