Liverpool captain has the ability to inspire and change the outcome of games according to former Reds winger Ryan Babel.
“He is a definitely a person I look up to, and did so back then in training and in games,” Babel told the official Liverpool website.
“In situations where, as a player, you had a feeling you were about to lose a game, he still had a certain spirit and belief that something could be done to change the game.”

The Kasımpaşa star admitted that he still looks up Gerrard and learnt a lot from the 34-year-old.
“It was something I admired and took with me and tried to help with at the other clubs I’ve since played for,” he added.
“Now I have reached a certain age, people look at me as the experienced player within the squad, so I look at those past situations to help my current situation.”
Babel played alongside Gerrard between 2007-11 and scored a total of 22 goals in 146 appearances.
Gerrard will leave Liverpool at the end of the season after spending all his career at the club.
The 28-year-old joined Ajax after his spell at Liverpool and then move to Kasımpaşa on a free transfer in 2013.
