“Fenerbahçe deserve to play European football, we are a team capable of doing well in European competition and it is where we should be,” Alves said in an interview with Fenerbahçe Magazine.

Alves underlined that he believes Fenerbahçe will play in European competition next season.
“We want to take this club into European competition, the world needs to find out just how bid this club is,” he added.
The reigning Süper Lig champions are currently third in the Süper Lig, just two points behind first placed Galatasaray.
The Yellow Canaries beat Beşiktaş in the Istanbul derby before the international break.
Fenerbahçe travel to the Black Sea next to take on Çaykur Rizespor on the road.
The Canaries have only lost one of their last nine Süper Lig away games. Rizespor are undefeated in their last five league games.
Alves did not feature in the Portugal national teams 2-0 loss against Cape Verde in an international friendly on Tuesday.
