Real Madrid secured a narrow 3-1 victory over VfB Stuttgart in their opening Champions League match.
Arda Guler made his Champions League debut for Real coming on as a second half substitute on 75 minutes.
Real scored twice after the introduction of Guler but he did not get his name on the scoresheet.
Guler has seen his playing time increase at Real this season and has made four appearances in La Liga.
Despite a dominant performance from Stuttgart, Real Madrid managed to come away with the win thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappe, Antonio Rüdiger, and Endrick.

The match started with Stuttgart controlling the play, forcing Thibaut Courtois into several good saves.
Madrid had a penalty claim turned down before halftime, but they managed to take the lead early in the second half.
Aurelien Tchouameni set up Rodrygo, who crossed for Mbappe to tap in the opener. Stuttgart responded with a goal from Deniz Undav, but Madrid regained the lead through Rüdiger’s header.
Endrick added a late goal to seal the win for Real Madrid, becoming the youngest Champions League scorer in the club’s history.
While the victory was important, Real Madrid’s performance was far from convincing. They struggled to create clear-cut chances and were fortunate to escape with the win.
