Galatasaray president Duygun Yarsuvat has released a statement condemning the attack on the Fenerbahçe team bus.
The statement read: “The attack on the Fenerbahçe team bus was an attack on Turkish sport, I am just glad nobody was killed and want to offer my best wishes to the Fenerbahçe community.”
Yarsuvat has campaigned for better relations between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe since taking over.
The Lions president attended the Intercontinental derby at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium and has worked towards normalising ties between the two rivals.

The Fenerbahçe team bus was attacked by armed assailants on its way toward Trabzon’s airport following a 5-1 win over Çaykur Rizespor.
The team bus was attacked along the Sürmene-Araklı Highway by a vehicle travelling on the other side of the road heading in the opposite direction.
Driver Ufuk Kıran was injured when the unknown assailant shot at the bus with a rifle.
The Fenerbahçe players and staff were unharmed in the attack, the driver is now reported to be in a stable condition.
Galatasaray take on Karabükspor in the Süper Lig today.
