Fenerbahçe, Bursaspor & Genclerbirligi have all offered condolences to the family of South African legend John ‘Shoes’ Moshoeu after he passed away today at the age of 49.

Moshoeu lost his life on Tuesday following a long battle with cancer.

The former Kaizer Chiefs star played for all three Süper Lig clubs during his playing days.

Moshoeu won two PSL titles with Amakhosi between 2003 and 2005 before moving to AmaZulu in 2006.

The South Africa international had a successful 10-year stint in Turkey between 1993 and 2003.

Moshoeu joined Gençlerbirliği in 1993 and later joined Kocaelispor tho seasons later.

The next destination was Fenerbahçe in 1997 where he stayed until 2001 before a two-year stint at Bursaspor.

Moshoeu was one of the star players when South Africa lifted the 1996 Africa Cup of Nations on home soil.

The former Fenerbahçe attacking midfielder won 73 international caps for Bafana, making his debut back in 1993.
