Trabzonspor have been making progress in their attempt to sign Albin Ekdal from Cagliari according to Eurosport TR.
The Black Sea based side have held talks with the players agent and are preparing to make the Serie A side an offer. Trabzonspor’s Swedish international Erkan Zengin has also played a role in negotiations.
Ekdal has one year remaining on his contract with Cagliari. The 25-year-old has previously played for Juventus, Siena, Bologna and Cagliari.
Tottenham were interested in signing Ekdal prior to the winter transfer window.

According to Sportmediaset, Ekdal’s impressive performances have to come to the attention of Tottenham football chief Franco Baldini, who has asked Cagliari to keep him up to speed on the Swede’s situation.
Trabzonspor are currently 6th in the Turkish Super Lig with 47 points in 28 games.
