Malaga CEO Vicente Casado has revealed that the new La Liga television rights deal will fund the €3.5m transfer of on-loan Galatasaray striker Nordin Amrabat according to Football Espana.

Amrabat has been on loan with Malaga this season but La Rosaleda have a €3.5 million buyout clause option to sign the Moroccan international on a permanent deal.

“The new deal is historic, fantastic, and gives us incredible breathing space,” Casado was quoted as saying on Football Espana.

“It’s part of what we need to maintain what we have. What does it mean for Malaga? It means we keep Amrabat at the club so that gives you an idea of what it does. It’s very important.”

The Malaga CEO believes the new deal will give La Liga clubs the financial muscle to compete with the Premier League.

“We are very happy and we must continue along these lines to compete with the English League,” he added.

The Lions signed Amrabat from Kayserispor for €8 million in 2012 when he joined from Kayserispor and he still has two years left on his contract.

West Ham and West Brom are also reported to be interested in the 28-year-old winger according to Talk Sport.
