Fenerbahçe striker Emmanuel Emenike has dedicated his goal in the 2-1 win against Bursaspor to the families of the victims in the latest wave of xenophobic attacks against foreign nationals occurred in South Africa.

“In the world today, one game brings us together as one. My goal is to the family of those who have lost their lives in South Africa as I plead for the end of violence on the continent,” Emenike told AfricanFootball.com.

Thousands were displaced from their homes and up to five people were reported to have been killed when violence spread through the province of KwaZulu-Nata in South Africa according to Al Jazeera.

Emenike has been criticised for his profligacy in front of goal this season but the Nigerian international has scored and provided an assist in his last two league games.

The 28-year-old striker has a total of five goals and four assists in all competitions this season.

Fenerbahçe are currently third in the Süper Lig, just one point behind first placed Beşiktaş and second placed Galatasaray.

The Yellow Canaries take on Sivasspor at the 4 Eylül stadium next weekend.
