Arsenal playmaker Mesut Özil has revealed that he has got used to the physicality of the Premier League and that he does not need a long summer break to recover to his best form.
“My body benefits from that, but to be honest: I don’t need it,” he said when asked about requiring a rest from the game in the off-season,” Özil told Goal.
“I have been a professional for some years now and I have had a tournaments almost every summer with the Under-18s, Under-21s and the national team.”

Özil also stated that he enjoys a few days holiday now and again but that he misses football after two weeks without playing the beautiful game.
“I enjoy a few days off, but after one or two weeks the lust for football returns,“ he added.
Despite being criticised at times for not not having the greatest work rate Özil has covered more distance, scored more goals, provided more assists and improved his sprinting since returning from injury at the start of 2015 according to the official Premier League website.
Özil has also been awarded for his form since recovering from injury with two Vitality Arsenal Player of the Month as well as a PFA Fans Player of the Month awards.
The World Cup winner has nine assists and five goals in 31 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions this season.
