The Serie A club Fiorentina have confirmed that they are in talks with numerous clubs including Besiktas over the transfer of Mario Gomez.
“The decision to sell Mario Gomez has been made by the technical team. We are in talks with Besiktas along with other clubs,” Fiorentina President Mario Cognigni was quoted as saying by the Milliyet newspaper.
The Germany international has been linked with a move to Liverpool over the past week by the Express. The daily newspaper goes onto say that the Reds are ‘reportedly’ prepared to offer out-of-favour striker Mario Balotelli as part of a deal.
Beşiktaş recently completed the transfer of Ricardo Quaresma but are desperate to sign a striker following the sale of Demba Ba to Chinese giants Shanghai Shenhua for €14 million.
The Black Eagles have also been closely linked with Loic Remy and Dame N’Doye over the summer.
Gomez provided four assists and scored ten goals in 32 appearances for Fiorentina last season.
