Galatasaray are set to sign Real Madrid’s young midfielder José Rodríguez Martínez on a free transfer according to Eurosport.
The Lion’s have been on the lookout for a new defensive midfielder following reports linking Felipe Melo with a move to Inter Milan.
Rodriguez was set for a move to Arsenal aged 16 following an impressive performance in the Under 17 world club championship, where he was voted player of the tournament.
The 20-year-old is expected to join Galatasaray on a free-transfer. Madrid have the option to re-sign the young midfielder at a cup price within four-years and will receive %50 of the transfer fee if the player is sold.
Eurosport go onto say that Rodríguez will arrive in Istanbul this week to undergo a medical and should put pen-to-paper on a deal with Galatasaray by Wednesday.
Rodríguez provided one assist and scored two goals in 27 appearances while on loan at Deportivo de La Coruña last season.
