Gokhan Inler has rejected a move to Leicester City according to the Italian television channel RAI.
The 31-year-old was the subject of a €4 million bid from Leicester City however, the Premier League side were unable to agree personal terms with Inler.
Leicester’s newly appointed manager Claudio Ranieri revealed earlier this week that he was close to securing a replacement for Esteban Cambiasso.
The Argentinian international recently confirmed that he will leave Leicester according to the BBC. The former Inter Milan player released a statement saying that he will not renew his current deal with the Foxes.
The statement read: “I have decided not to renew my contract with Leicester City.
Cambiasso scored one goal and provided five assists in 33 appearances for Leicester last season. The 34-year-old joined Leicester City on a free transfer from Inter Milan last summer.
Inler scored one goal in 33 appearances for Napoli in all competitions last season.
Leicester pulled off the ‘great-escape’ last season to beat the drop. The foxes ended the season in 14th place with 41 points.
