Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is keen on a move for the Germany international midfielder Ilkay Gundogan according to Calciomercato.
The Italian sports paper states that the experienced manager wants reinforcements following an injury to their new signing Sami Khadira.
The Guardian states that Khadira is expected to miss the first two months of the season with a thigh injury.
Juventus also lost two key midfielders in Arturo Vidal to Bayen Munich and Andrea Pirlo to the MLS side New York City FC.
Manchester United and Arsenal were both closely linked with a move for the Germany international earlier this summer by the Daily Mail.
Juventus won the Italian Serie A title last season with a 17 point gab between second placed Roma and reached the UEFA Champions League final.
The Bianconeri’s were defeated 3-1 by Barcelona in the final which was played at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. Juventus take on Udinese in their opening game of the 2015-16 season.
