Leicester City midfielder Gökhan İnler has revealed that he believes in the club chairman’s mission to expand the club.
İnler revealed that the ambition shown by the chairman convinced him to join.
“I remember when nobody wanted to go to Napoli,” İnler told the Dispatch Times.
“Our chairman wants to build a very good team and that’s why I’m here.”
The experienced midfielder made his debut for Leicester in the 1-1 draw against Tottenham on the weekend.
İnler joined the Premier League outfit for a reported £5 million transfer fee despite interest from Bundesliga outfit Schalke and Turkish giants Beşiktaş.
Leicester have gotten off to a flying start in the League with two wins and a draw in their opening draw games. City have won 28 Premier League points since April 1st 2015; more than any other side.
İnler scored one goal in 33 appearances for Napoli in all competitions last season. The 31-year-od has won 84 caps and played in two FIFA World Cups.
