Liverpool forward Lazar Markovic will arrive in Istanbul today to complete his loan move to Fenerbahçe today. The Yellow Canaries will also have a buyout clause option a source close to the club told Turkish-football.com.

Markovic will arrive in Istanbul at 17:20 local time and become the third player to join Fenerbahçe from the Premier League over the summer.

The Canaries also signed Manchester United star Robin van Persie and Luis Nani last month on three-year deals.

The Istanbul giants have released a statement on their official website and the stock exchange confirming talks with Liverpool over Markovic.

The statement read: “Talks with Liverpool and Lazar Markovic are underway.”

Turkish clubs listed on the stock exchange are required to inform shareholders of transfer talks before completing the transfer on the stock exchange. Generally clubs disclose details of talks as a formality before announcing the signing of a player.

Fenerbahçe finished last season as runners-up and are currently managed by Portuguese manager Vitor Pereira. Markovic has experience playing in Portugal having spent a season at Benfica before joining the Reds on a £20 million move.
