Trabzonspor sporting director Süleyman Hurma has revealed that the club are considering activating on-loan Chelsea winger Marko Marin’s release clause after an impressive start to the season.
Marin has one assist in 135 minutes of Turkish Super League football and hit the crossbar in his last game against Galatasaray as well as setting up teammate Erkan Zengin with a clear chance on goal but he also hit the woodwork.
Burma told Turkish football newspaper Fanatik: “Marko Marin has an agreement with us and if he carries on like this we will activate his release clause from Chelsea.”
Trabzonspor released a statement on the stock exchange disclosing the details of the deal when he signed last month. Marin will receive a €1.6 million salary in addition to a €10,000 per-match bonus and Trabzonspor have the option to a €4 million buyout clause.
HaberTürk reported that Chelsea will pay Marin an additional €900,000 towards his salary and that Trabzonspor managed to negotiate his buyout clause from €7 million down to €4 million.
