Barcelona star Dani Alves has praised his new teammate Arda Turan for his ability on the field and being a great friend off the pitch.
“It is an honour to have him at Barcelona but such a shame that he has to wait so long to play,” Alves was quoted as saying by Habertürk.
“Me and my teammates all want him to play as soon as possible he is a really intelligent player and has great character.”
Alves also revealed that Turan has settled in to his new club and that he gets on really well with all his new teammates.
“We all get on really well off the field he is crazy and we need crazy guys in this team,” he added.
Turan joined Barcelona on a five-year deal from Atletico Madrid over the summer but cannot play a domestic game for his new club until January due to the FIFA transfer ban currently in place.
The reigning La Liga champions are however, appealing the discussion and could be able to play the bearded winger as soon as the end of the current international break due to a Spanish Football Federation ruling that states a player with a long term injury can be replaced by an unregistered player.
Turan is currently on international duty with Turkey where he is expected to start against Czech Republic and Iceland in the final two Euro 2016 Group A games.
