Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp revealed that he spoke with Emre Can following the Paris attacks last week and that he is confident the 21-year-old will get over the tragedy.
Can was playing for Germany against France at the Stade de Paris when the attacks took place in the French capital.
“We spoke about this but, like everyone, not in a special way,” Klopp was quoted as saying by BT Sport.
“He is a young lad who was in a very difficult situation. Like all of us it is difficult to understand or to change.
“We have to trust in the people who have a bit more power to change it and we will see what happens. It was not the best experience for the boys but it was an experience.
“Now they are here, back at home.”
France ended up winning the game 2-0 but the match was overshadowed by the attacks that took place in the capital.
The Germany international shared an Instagram picture with the Eiffel Tower within a peace sign alongside the caption: “prayforparis.”
At least 120 people were killed after multiple terror attacks in the Paris, a further 180 injured and 99 in hospital in critical condition.
Can was one of two ethnic Turks called up to the Germany national team alongside Borussia Dortmund İlkay Gündoğan.
