Barcelona have revealed that Arda Turan generated more engagement than any other social media post in 2015 on the official club Twitter and Facebook accounts.
The tweet which welcomed the signing of Turan to the club resulted in 42,000 retweets and 36,000 likes according to the official website.
Turan has created a surge in Turkish Barcelona fans and Turkey now accounts for the 7th highest number of likes on the official page.
The bearded wingers home town Istanbul meanwhile is 12th in terms of highest number of Facebook followers by city.
Barcelona have responded by starting a Turkish language Twitter account to join Catalan, Spanish, English, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Indonesian, Arabic and Japanese.

Turkey has become an important market for Barcelona and is the country’s most followed foreign club according to study by Repucom.
Barcelona have several Turkish sponsorship deals with the likes of Beko, Lassa Tyres and Turk Telekom.
Beko became the Barcelona global premier partner in 2014 and the company logo will appear on the shirt sleeve for three seasons.
