Arda Turan is in ‘great shape’ leading up to his debut tonight according to Barcelona boss Luis Enrique.
Enrique has stated that the Turkish international will make his debut at the Camp Nou tonight and that Arda is ‘very excited.’
The La Liga and Champions League winning coach went onto praise Turan’s ability stating that he has remarkable individual quality.
“I do not know yet how many minutes they [Arda Turan & Aleix Vidal] will play, but they are both in great shape and excited to make their debut.” Luis Enrique said at a news conference.
“They are both very versatile players who could play in a number of positions. Aleix can play as a wing-back, a winger and even in midfield.
They are both more than capable of doing well. They have remarkable individual quality and can give us a lot defensively as well.”
Turan joined Barcelona last summer but due to the FIFA transfer ban the club has been unable to register him until the turn of the year.
The former Galatasaray midfielder has received the number 7 shirt number which was previously worn by Pedro. Pedro departed Barcelona to join Chelsea over the summer, therefore vacating the number seven jersey.
The Turkish international has been able to maintain a high level of match fitness due to playing regularly for the Turkish national team, playing a key role in the Crescent-Stars reaching Euro 2016.
