Arda Turan should be allowed to play immediately for Barcelona according to La Liga chief Javier Tebas.
Barcelona hope to be able to register Turan and replace him with Rafinha. The Spanish Football Federation rules state that a player that suffers a long term injury can be replaced with an unregistered player.
Tebas was quoted by FourFourTwo as saying: “In Spain, we have the law that if the player is out for five months injured then you’re able to replace him.
“So, I believe that Barcelona should be able to replace Arda Turan.”
FIFA appears to be reluctant to let the Spanish Football Federation go ahead with the move but Barcelona are prepared to take the case to CAS should the world footballing body try to block Turan’s registration.
Turan is unable to play under the status quo until the start of the winter transfer window in January due to the FIFA transfer ban imposed on the club.
The bearded winger is currently on international duty with Turkey where the transfer ban does not apply.
