Barcelona take on Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League in what is little more than a formality for the reigning champions.
The Champions League title holders have already booked a place in the Last 16 as group leaders but will be unable to play Turan due to still serving the transfer ban imposed on the club by FIFA.
The bearded winger did actually join Barcelona on a five-year deal from Atletico Madrid over the summer but the La Liga giants have been unable to register him despite filing appeals to the Court of Arbitration of Sport and the Spanish FA.
Turan will not be able to play but his fellow Turkish international Hakan Çalhanoğlu is almost certain to start for Bayer Leverkusen.
The 21-year-old playmaker could end up joining Turan at Barcelona should he keep impressing in the Champions League and Bundesliga as the reigning La Liga champions have already registered an interest.
Bayer must win or draw and hope Roma lose against BATE in the other group game to progress to the Last 16.
