Fenerbahçe striker Emmanuel Emenike revealed that the armed attack on the team bus brought back bad memories from Nigeria.
“I’ve been involved in a terrible accident in Nigeria before, where my mother suffered severe bruises, and for a moment I had a terrible flashback when that bus was swerving all over the road,” Emenike told the BBC.

The Nigerian international stated that he hopes the assailant is found and justice gets served.
“I hope this incident will be investigated thoroughly and the perpetrators are made to face the justice system,” he added.
The Fenerbahçe team were headed to Trabzon airport to take their flight back to Istanbul following the 5-1 win against Çaykur Rizespor.
The team bus was attacked along the Sürmene-Araklı Highway by an armed assailant who fired a rifle at the driver.
Emenike was on the team bus but was unharmed in the attack.
The driver was rushed to hospital but his situation is reported to be stable.
The Fenerbahçe players and staff were taken to the Trabzon airport via an armoured vehicle following the attack.
The motive of the attack is not clear and the assailant is still on the run.
