“Arsenal are not in the same class” – Ex Gunner predicts tough game against Watford FC

Ex-Arsenal star midfielder Paul Merson has predicted a tough 90 minutes for his former side against Watford FC this weekend.

The clash takes place at Vicarage Road and kick-off is scheduled for 17:30 (GMT).

Merson believes the game will be difficult for Arsenal despite Manchester City putting six past Watford a fortnight ago during a 6-0 win.

The SkySports pundit went onto state that Germany international Mesut Ozil should not return to the starting eleven. Ozil has been sidelined for the past two weeks due to a knee injury and was omitted from Joachim Low’s Germany national team squad.

“This is a hard game for Arsenal. Watford were outstanding at West Brom,” Merson told SkySports.

“It would be a big result if Arsenal won here. I know Man City scored six at Watford but Arsenal are not in the same class.

“I wouldn’t put Mesut Ozil back into the side. He doesn’t work hard enough for the team. He is a top player but the least you can do is work hard. If you have got talent you have had a result – and he has talent – but I have seen players with much less talent than him have a bigger impact on games, which can’t be right.”

Ozil returned to first-team training this week and manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he will be included in the match-day squad.

The Gunners have been in impressive form of late with four back-to-back victories. Watford meanwhile are yet to win a Premier League game at home this season.
