Arsenal Go Head-To-Head With Everton For Bundesliga Star In January
Arsenal and Everton are locked in a race for Hoffenheim star Kerem Demirbay according to reports in Italy.
Newsmondo claim that Demirbay has attracted widespread interest from across Europe and that Everton as well as Arsenal are interested in a January move.
Per the source, the Bundesliga outfit are concerned they could loses the attacking midfielder of Turkish origin over the winter break.
Demirbay represents Germany at international level and like Arsenal star Mesut Ozil he also happens to be an ethnic Turkey.
Another similarity with Ozil is that Demirbay plays a similar role.
With Ozil approaching the end of his contract Demirbay could be among the potential replacements – if he does end up leaving.
Everton have struggled for creativity this season, something the 24-year-old could provide some assistance with.
The Toffees have scored just 25 goals in the league this season – the second fewest in the top half of the table after Burnley.
Demirbay has two goals and five assists in 22 appearances for Hoffenheim in all competitions this season.
In total the midfielder has eight goals and 15 assists in 51 games for the Bundesliga side in all competitions.
