Arsenal were described as having a ‘party’ against Manchester United according to Mesut Özil following their 3-0 win over the Premier League giants at the Emirates.
Özil shared a shot from the game on his Instagram account alongside the caption: “What a party at the Emirates today. Brilliant team performance. Exactly the right moment to show our skills! #AFCvMUFC #Arsenal #YaGunnersYa #bethedifference.”
Özil had been criticised in the lead up to the game after a disappointing few performances and slammed for not performing in big games.
Former United midfielder Johnny Giles went as far to claim that Arsenal will not be able to succeed and win trophies with the World Cup winner in the side.
Özil responded to his critics by settling up Alexis Sanchez with the opening goal on 6 minutes and then scoring himself just a minute later.
The World Cup winner provided his fourth assist and scored his first goal of the season in the victory over United.
The 26-year-old winner has now provided and scored in the same game for the fourth time in his Arsenal career.
