Çalhanoğlu has been hitting the headlines recently for his set-piece goals. The 21-year-old has scored the highest number of free-kick goals in the top five leagues in Europe – Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1.
The Turkish international is regarded as being one of the best set-piece specialists in world football and has received rave reviews from Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola who said: “Çalhanoğlu is one of the best free-kick takers in the Bundesliga.”
The 21-year-old now has a total of 13 goals and 11 assists, Çalhanoğlu has setup more goals than any other Turkish player in Europe this season other than Mehmet Ekici (11).
