Arsenal were among the clubs that sent scouts to watch Besiktas wonderkid Semih Kilicsoy in the game against Istanbul in the Super Lig on Sunday, sources told Turkish-Football.

The Gunners have become the latest side to join the race for the rising star who is attracting growing interest from around Europe.

Arsenal are targeting strikers for next season and Kilicsoy has caught the attention of the Premier League side after bursting onto the scene in December.

Kilicsoy, 18, has established himself as a promising attacking force in the Super Lig, netting nine goals in 14 appearances this season.

The striker has nine goals in his last 10 games and scored in the win over Istanbulspor putting on another impressive performance. Kilicsoy opened the scoring on 23 minutes with a fine finish.

The striker has had a meteoric rise over the last few months and is expected to break into the Turkish national team squad for Euro 2024 summer – which could see his value rise even further.

Kilicsoy has yet to make his debut for the senior national team but head coach Vincenzo Montella has said he could be called up for the next game.

The young striker is under contract until 2028 and Besiktas do not want to sell him unless it is an offer they cannot refuse.

The Black Eagles see Kilicsoy as being part of their future and want to rebuild the team around him next season but if he keeps developing at the current rate the club could struggle to keep him on next summer.
