Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has heaped praise on his star playmaker Mesut Özil in an interview with the Gunner’s official website.
The experienced French manager likened Özil to a ‘musician who always plays the right notes at the right moment.’
Özil played a staring role in Arsenal;s 3-0 victory over Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday evening.
Wenger also praised Özil’s willingness to put his team ahead of individual goals.
“He’s intelligent. Mesut is like a musician who always plays the right notes at the right moment. When he has to give the ball he gives the ball,” Wenger told Arsenal’s official website.
“He got out of impossible situations, but it was not forced individually – the team play was always in front of his ego. That strikes you because when players are usually talented that’s not the first quality you see.”
Özil a key role in the Gunners 3-0 victory over Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League.
