Arsenal star overtakes Man United legend Wayne Rooney to become the Premier League’s King of Twitter
Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has overtaken Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney as the most followed Premier League player on Twitter.
Rooney was previously the most followed Premier League player on Twitter and was ahead of Ozil.
In February Rooney had 14.4 million followers compared to Ozil’s 14.3 million.
Ozil’s following has grown by an additional 700,000 since February and he became the first Premier League player to reached 15 million following.

The Germany international of Turkish origin has overtaken Rooney who is currently on 14.6 million.
Ozil has more followers than both Arsenal and United.
The 28-year-old regularly uses Twitter to keep his fans updated and engage with them over the social media network.
In the grander scheme of things Ozil is the fifth highest followed Twitter follower.

It is difficult to put on a price on how much Ozil is paid for his tweets but in 2015 he earned an astonishing £33,120 per-tweet according to the Metro.
