Arsenal playmaker Mesut Özil has heaped praise on the Emirates stadium’s ground staff ahead of today’s pre-season friendlies.
Wolfsburg take on Villarreal in the opening game of the Emirates cup while Arsenal host Olympique Lyonnais at 16:20 (GMT).
The Germany international took to Twitter earlier today stating, “Thx to the Afc staff for preparing the green for the @emirates ! It looks like it’s been cut to perfection with a nail.”
The World Cup winner has had a busy summer during which time he has toured three continents – America, Europe and Asia. Özil started his summer vacation in Germany before traveling to Los Angeles and then to Singapore for the Barclays Asia Cup.
Özil provided nine assists and five goals in 32 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions last season.
