Arsenal star Mesut Ozil made Fenerbahce fans very happy after the Sun claimed he will join the Istanbul giants over the next three years.
The World Cup winner is of course a Fenerbahce fan having grown up supporting the club.
Ozil told the Sabah last July: “In the future I want to wear a Fenerbahce shirt. It would be an honour. Everyone knows I am a Fenerbahce fan.”
The Istanbul giants would currently struggle to prize Ozil from Arsenal but in three-years time it may just become possible.
Ozil still has another two-years remaining on his Arsenal contract and the north London based outfit are keen on extending his deal.
The Germany international is of Turkish origin and his family are from the Zonguldak region of Turkey.
Ozil is a bi-lingual Turkish-German speaker and regularly visits Turkey were he is a popular celebrity often appearing on television shows.
The Gunners may currently be 4th in the league but Ozil has been in great form for his club providing the most assists in the league (19) and having created the most chances (130).
