Arsenal suffer transfer setback as Barcelona targets holds talks with Galatasaray officials in Turkey

Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan travelled to Turkey yesterday where he held talks with Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek and football director Cenk Ergun according to Mundo Deportivo.

Per the source, the trio alongside Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut held a meeting in Istanbul.

The report also claims that Monaco and Arsenal are also interested in the out-of-favour Barcelona player.

Bulut meanwhile recently confirmed that he is in talks with four clubs and that there is a Premier League side among the interested parties.

Turkey national team manager Mircea Lucescu revealed that the Arsenal had an offer for the 30-year-old turned down over the summer.

“I have been in talks with four clubs, everything will be sorted in 15 days,” Bulut was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“Turan will either be loaned out or sold, there are offers from the Premier League, Spain and Italy.”

The Turkish international has yet to play a single minute of competitive football under the stewardship of Ernesto Valverde.

Turan looks set to leave Barca in January but he does have just under three years remaining on his current contract.

The experienced midfielder has won every domestic title in Spain and Turkey as well as the Europa League, European Super Cup.
