Beşiktaş star Oğuzhan Özyakup has hit the ground running under the stewardship of Şenol Güneş cementing his position as one of the hottest talents in the league.
The Turkish international midfielder has attracted interest from Premier League clubs including former side Arsenal according to Talksport but has vowed to stay at Beşiktaş until the end of the season.
Özyakup did however, reveal that he intends to follow in the footsteps of Arda Turan who joined Barcelona over the summer and join a European powerhouse.
“After achieving success with Beşiktaş I want to move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs but first and foremost comes Beşiktaş,” Özyakup said in a recent interview with Milliyet.
The 23-year-old midfielder played a major role in Arsenal’s Under-18s side that won the Premier Academy League title in 2009 and made a few appearances in cup competitions for the Gunners before joining Beşiktaş in 2012 for a fee of €500,000.
Özyakup now has five goals and six assists in all competitions for the Black Eagles this season.
Beşiktaş are currently first in the Turkish Super League and have scored the highest number of goals this season – 41.
