Arsenal team news: Wenger provides update for Mesut Ozil and Wilshere injuries ahead of Bournemouth clash

Arsenal will be looking to return to winning ways when they take on Bournemouth in the Premier League this weekend.

The clash takes place at the Vitality stadium on Sunday, kick-off is scheduled for 13:30 (GMT).

However, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is facing major problems in midfield following injuries to Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere.

Ozil missed Tuesday’s clash with Chelsea due to a knee problem while Wilshere was forced off with an injury.

During the pre-game press conference, Wenger revealed that Ozil is still a major doubt. Meanwhile, Wilshere is expected to place as his injury is not as serious as first thought.

The French tactician has given Ozil a 50% chance of featuring on Sunday.

“From Wednesday night, Jack was injured but we had good news. I saw him walking yesterday, he’s not yet out of the game on Sunday,” Wenger told reporters.

“We have an uncertainty about Ozil, he will have a test tomorrow, that at the moment is a big 50/50 for Bournemouth.”

Wenger also went into more detail regarding Ozil’s knee injury.

“It’s his knee. He had a swollen knee and a recurrence of what he had two or three weeks ago – that’s why he wasn’t involved on Wednesday,” Wenger stated.

In positive news for the Gunners midfielder, Aaron Ramsey has returned to the squad after being ruled out for over a month.
