Euro giants confirm £5m Man City bid for wonderkid – Arsenal & Tottenham also interested
Turkish Super League giants Fenerbahce have confirmed a summer bid from Manchester City for their young star Oguz Kaan Guctekin.
Club president Aziz Yildirim confirmed that he turned down a €5 million bid from City for Guctekin.
“We had a €5m offer for Oguz Kaan from Manchester City in the summer. He’s a product of our academy. We didn’t sell,” Yildirim was quoted as saying by SporX.
The 18-year old made his professional debut on Sunday when he came on as an 86th minute substitute during Fenerbahce’s win over Sivasspor.
Per the source, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping tabs on the young midfielder.
Manchester City have been keeping close tabs on the Turkish market in recent years. The Citizens signed Enes Unal from Bursaspor for €2 million back in 2014.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been closely linked with a move for the highly rated young goalkeeper from Altinordu Berk Ozer.
